Health Care Solutions
The California Health Equity Alliance seeks to ensure that all Californians have access to high-quality and equitable primary and behavioral healthcare, regardless of race, gender, education, or socioeconomic class.
CHEA seeks to increase the participation of Black Californians in policy-making at all levels within the health industry and public sector, advocate for policy changes that increase the participation of underrepresented minorities in education and healthcare delivery, and build strong relationships with public officials committed to improving the health of all Californians.
CHEA serves as a resource on health policies and related issues for organizations working to improve the health of Black Californians. We aim to support research and educational efforts that identify underlying factors that determine the health status of Black Californians and inform policy initiatives to reduce disparities. Additionally, the Alliance provides a structure for coordinated efforts to improve the health status of Black Californians. It establishes partnerships with community and statewide health organizations to mobilize support for their work.
Health inequities are systematic differences in the health status of different population groups. These inequities have significant social and economic costs both to individuals and societies.
